Professional Development Activities

Diplomates are required to submit verifiable documentation of their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities in this section. To satisfy this requirement, diplomates must earn an average of at least 25 AMA Category 1 Credits™ per year over a minimum two-year period. CPD activities should support the maintenance, advancement, and enhancement of knowledge, skills, and professional competencies in response to patient care needs.

Acceptable documentation includes official transcripts, certifications, or statements from professional societies, hospitals, or other accredited organizations authorized to award AMA Category 1 Credits™. Diplomates are strongly encouraged to compile all credits earned during the current certification cycle into a single consolidated document, rather than uploading individual certificates for each activity.

Diplomates are subject to audit during the year preceding their certificate expiration. Documentation submitted for audit must reflect CPD activities completed within the current five-year certification cycle, with the audit encompassing a four-year retrospective review.

Diplomates will be notified whether their submitted records are complete or if additional documentation is required. Failure to meet CPD requirements by the certificate expiration date (December 31 of the applicable year) will result in invalidation of CertLink or CC examination results, and certification will lapse.
