Request Review of Non- US/Canada Education and Training

Program Directors may ask the ABNM to accept physician training obtained in countries outside the United States or Canada as being equivalent to training accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). The request may be for preparatory clinical training, as well as training in Nuclear Medicine or Diagnostic Radiology.

A Nuclear Medicine Program Director from an ACGME or RCPSC accredited United States or Canada Nuclear Medicine training program must complete the Program Director’s Assessment of Prior Training form and submit it directly to the ABNM by sending a PDF copy of the completed and signed form to [email protected].

Candidates with non-standard training or potential credentialing issues should undergo a credentialing process at the time they apply or are accepted into a Nuclear Medicine program. If this process is not completed and the trainee applies for the Certification Exam, the ABNM will request this process be completed prior to application approval.
