The American Board of Nuclear Medicine, Inc. (“ABNM” or “Board”) administers CertLink® a longitudinal self-assessment program that is being utilized by many boards including ABNM as an alternative to the Continuing Certification (CC) exam for recertification.
As a CerLink participant, please review the ABNM CertLink Participation Agreement prior to checking the “I certify / I agree” box below.
PARTICIPATION
I understand, enrollment is voluntary and requires action as a participant. I further understand that if I do not want to participate in CertLink and wish to re-certify, I must pass the CC exam before my certificate expires and that I may take the CC exam up to two years before my certificate expires.
CERTLINK QUESTION DELIVERY AND ANSWERING
I understand, I will receive up to 13 questions every 3 months (every quarter), including 9 new questions + 0-4 questions similar to questions I previously answered incorrectly, or answered correctly but with low confidence (best guess).
I understand, I will have a predetermined time to answer each question.
I understand, I may use on-line information, books, notes, or any available resource to answer questions, and that I may not consult with another individual at any time.
I understand, I may answer all the questions at one time, or as many questions as I’d like each time I log in, but all questions delivered during the quarter must be answered by the end of the quarter.
I understand that questions not answered by the end of the quarter will be marked as incorrect, which will negatively impact my final score.
I understand, I may not go back, and answer questions delivered in previous quarters.
I understand, I will receive immediate feedback for each answer I submit, including the correct answer, a key point, brief discussion, and at least one reference.
I understand and agree that CertLink is the property of the Board, and that questions will not be available for review by participants either before or after the assessment.
RESULTS/SCORING
I understand that CertLink provides a Dashboard which shows my cumulative performance compared to my peers. I also understand that the information on the Dashboard is not my final score.
I understand, my final score will be determined at the end of an assessment cycle, which is based on the year my ABNM certification expires.
I understand, my assessment cycle cannot be extended.
I understand that a psychometrically validated passing score will be determined at the end of an assessment cycle.
I understand that if I achieve a passing score, I will not need to take the CC exam to re-certify.
I understand that if I do not achieve a passing score, I will be given the opportunity to take the CC exam before my certification expires. I also understand that I will need to pass the CC exam to re-certify.
RELEASE OF INFORMATION
I authorize the ABNM to provide information related to my exam results to individuals or agencies for academic and professional employment purposes. I further authorize the ABNM to share my information for publication in directories of certified medical specialists and to any other institution, professional organization, or individual which, in the opinion of the Board, has a legitimate interest in such information.
PARTICIPATION IN CC PROGRAM
I understand, participation in the ABNM’s CC program is a requirement for re-certification.
I understand, if I have a time-limited certificate, participation in the ABNM’s CC program is required in order to maintain my Certificate, in addition to satisfying all other requirements that may be imposed by the ABNM from time to time.
I understand, I must fulfill all the requirements for CC to receive a new certificate before my current certificate expires. I further understand that my failure to satisfy all ABNM requirements, including but not limited to, the CC program and exam, will result in forfeiture of my Certificate and physical return of the same to the ABNM.
COMPLIANCE WITH ABNM BYLAWS, POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
I understand that all Certificates will be subject to the Bylaws, policies, and procedures of the ABNM and will be subject to the same conditions, rules and regulations that are applicable to newly awarded Certificates issued, including time limits and requirements for CC.
PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
I attest that I am the diplomate who is assigned to this CertLink account. Because the ABNM’s CertLink questions are proprietary information, I will not copy, share, discuss, or otherwise divulge any of the questions or answers, or related information provided during feedback, in part or in-full with any other individual or group; nor will I assist or facilitate anyone else in doing the same. I am expected to participate with the highest level of professionalism and integrity, and as such I will answer all CertLink questions without consulting other individuals and will not assist others in answering their questions.
I understand that I may use other resources to answer questions (such as textbooks, journals, and information available on the web), and that I may discuss the CertLink platform and program structure with other individuals.
I understand that failure to adhere to this policy will be considered a breach of professional ethics and subject to sanctions, as described in the ABNM policy on licensure, which is available at here, and which I have reviewed.
